The use of sapphire as a phone screen had no precedent before at VERTU. To make this, the VERTU team searched the world to create an extraordinary phone and finally settled on a process for making sapphire as a phone screen in France.

The sapphire crystal screen showcases our world-class craftsmanship to a tee. The design demands hair’s breadth precision — too thin and it’s easy to damage, too thick and the screen lacks sensitivity. But VERTU knows that for picture-perfect visuals, only the best will do. Get it melted in a furnace at 2000°C, then cut, smoothed, and polished by a diamond-head tool, and finally, we get a whole sapphire crystal screen.
