Kazumi Murose: Create a Feast of Luxury and Art

Kazumi Murose: Create a Feast of Luxury and Art

Urushi originated during the Heian period in Japan and was originally developed to decorate lacquerware for nobles and royalty. Urushi is a traditional Japanese lacquerware art and an important part of Japanese lacquerware culture.
Urushi is a very delicate and complex process that requires several steps and processes, including sanding and applying primer to the lacquer surface, painting patterns with gold powder or other pigments.

The themes of Urushi patterns are diverse, including flowers, animals, landscapes, figures, etc. Each work has its own unique style and artistic value.

Famous for its exquisite techniques, delicate patterns and ornate decorations, Urushi is not only a representative of Japanese lacquer art, but also an important part of Japanese traditional crafts and culture.

In 2010, to honor the first anniversary of our flagship 20-million yen store in Tokyo, VERTU collaborated with Kazumi Murose, a holder of the title of an important intangible culture in Japan, on a new phone series.

The limited-edition VERTU Signature Auspicious offers four seasonal designs in the artist’s intricate lacquer art. Each expresses the essence of spring, summer, autumn, or winter.

Urushi works enjoy a worldwide reputation and are regarded as one of the treasures of Japanese art. This unique blend is not only noticeable in appearance but also in the user experience. The feeling is as smooth as silk, and every touch is a perception of art. The nobility of lacquer and the exquisite craftsmanship of VERTU Signature Auspicious complement each other to create a feast of luxury and art.

When Kazumi Murose's lacquerware art meets the craftsmanship and luxury of VERTU phones, it's like the perfect convergence of two worlds. This collision is not just a union of lacquerware and technology, but also a shared pursuit of art and craftsmanship.
